Five Days in September: The Rebirth of an Orchestra

2005 · 72 min Documentary

This is a provocative and intimate fly-on-the-wall documentary revealing the inner workings of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra as it launches into its opening season with an amazingly charismatic new Maestro - Peter Oundjian. During one intense week, the orchestra is host to musical superstars Yo-Yo Ma, Emanuel Ax and Renee Fleming. Candid footage shows these great soloists as they interact with the maestro, prepare in their dressing rooms, interact with their fans backstage and rehearse and perform with the orchestra.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Five Days in September: The Rebirth of an Orchestra is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A 2005 film from an era before CGI overload, with real performances that still hit hard. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
