Ballad for a Dog

1969 · 90 min

Remi is a man on the verge of old age who begins to have hallucinations. He believes he has found a dog, but the canine is just a product of his imagination. The man takes a turn for the worse when his only friend, his poet neighbor, moves. He is left alone with his hallucinations and tries in vain to separate fantasy from reality in this plodding, depressing feature.

Ballad for a Dog is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A classic from 1969. They don't make them like this anymore — which is exactly why you should watch it. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
