Destined for Blues

Ryszard Riedel, the charismatic frontman of the legendary Polish blues-rock band Dżem, burns through life on stage and off. His voice, soaked in blues and raw pain, conquers stadiums, while the intervals between concerts dissolve in vodka and drugs. The film traces his meteoric rise from humble basement rehearsals to the status of a rock idol, and an equally rapid descent into the abyss of addiction. Alongside the band's story, it lays bare his torturous, soul-crushing relationships with his family—his wife and daughter, who become silent witnesses to his self-annihilation.
