Veronique Doisneau

2004 · 37 min

Invited to make a piece for the ballet of the Paris Opera by her director Brigitte Lefèvre, Jérôme Bel wanted to stage a kind of theatrical documentary on the work of one of the dancers of the ballet : Véronique Doisneau. The dancer, close to the retirement age, alone on stage, retrospectively and subjectively considers her own career as ballerina inside this institution. This film was shot during the last performance of the piece on the stage of the Palais Garnier.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Veronique Doisneau is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A 2004 film from an era before CGI overload, with real performances that still hit hard. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
