🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The film constructs its drama around the parallel struggles of obsessive artistic pursuit and forbidden romance, exploring how both are constrained by financial ruin and social class. It relies on the contrast between the cold, material quest in the workshop and the vulnerable emotions of the young lovers.

What lingers after viewing is the poignant intersection of chance, legacy, and human desire, set against the backdrop of a changing industrial world. — MovieFinder Editorial
