The Man Between

Susanne Mallory travels to post-war Berlin to visit her brother, an officer in the British occupation administration. A seemingly innocent social introduction to the charismatic Ivo Kern plunges her into a treacherous world of espionage. Kern, it turns out, is a pivotal figure in a ring smuggling secrets and people across the sector border. Initially captivated, Susanne becomes an unwitting pawn in his game, and later, the only person who can thwart a dangerous operation to exfiltrate an agent to the West. The city itself, with its ruins and shadowy corners, becomes a central character in the tense drama.
