Nazim, a retired teacher, comes back to his native Istanbul after years away, only to find a city transformed beyond recognition. While waiting for his pension to start, he takes a job as a temporary taxi driver. His cab becomes a moving confessional, navigating the city's darker, seedier districts where he witnesses fragments of other lives—loneliness, fleeting connections, and small transgressions. Through the windshield, his own unresolved past begins to echo in the struggles of his passengers, painting a poignant portrait of displacement in a metropolis that has moved on without him.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Gönül Yarası is a slow-burning, melancholic character study that finds profound depth in quiet observation. Director Yılmaz Erdoğan masterfully uses the taxi as a vessel to explore a changing city and the solitary figure navigating its moral ambiguities.
What lingers after the final frame is a deep sense of empathy for the disconnected soul. The film's power lies in its restraint and the haunting performance at its core, leaving a subtle but lasting emotional imprint. — MovieFinder Editorial
