Wall Engravings

Jeanne revisits the memory of her love for Jean. A melancholic young man who refused to accept the world as it was, perpetually dreaming of departure, of escape to non-existent shores. His unwillingness to put down roots, that constant readiness to vanish, became both a magnet and a source of pain for her. She holds these recollections, unaware of the central truth—that he is dead.
