Sawako, a young woman, loses her job as a caretaker after a false accusation. Stranded and penniless, she devises an unusual survival method: slipping into the homes of elderly people under the guise of offering help, occupying a minuscule, almost invisible space—those precise "0.5 millimeters." Her barely-there presence gradually alters the lives of the elders, unveiling their loneliness, buried memories, and unspoken needs.
