🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The film constructs its narrative on the tension between personal loss and state propaganda, relying on the protagonist's pregnancy as a potent symbol of both life and resistance. It explores the awakening of female political agency amidst the machinery of war, where private sorrow transforms into public defiance.

What lingers after the final frame is the haunting power of a silent, collective gesture against authority. The procession of women in black becomes an unforgettable image of early cinematic protest. — MovieFinder Editorial
