🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The film constructs a chilling narrative of urban terror, relying on the stark portrayal of a real-life criminal's brutal spree. It explores the primitive fear he instills in both the wealthy and the poor through simple, effective silent-era imagery.

What lingers after viewing is the stark contrast between the criminal's savage methods and the formal, inevitable hand of justice. The finale serves as an early blueprint for crime drama closure. — MovieFinder Editorial
