In Sachen Kaminski
Petra and Martin Kaminski, a couple with intellectual disabilities, follow a doctor's advice and seek early intervention support from youth services for their daughter, Lona. Instead of aid, they encounter a system that uses the guise of welfare to strip them of custody. The assigned social worker becomes not an ally, but a threat to their fragile family unit. Desperate, the couple finds a lawyer willing to challenge the bureaucratic machinery. Their struggle evolves into an exhausting odyssey through courtrooms and legal procedures, where every step is a battle and the fundamental right to be a family must be proven from the ground up.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film applies an unflinching lens to the seams of the welfare state, exposing its mechanistic coldness. The director sidesteps easy judgments, portraying a tragedy woven from good intentions and institutional indifference.
What lingers after the screen fades is not a verdict on the characters, but the unsettling echo of an ethical maze where fault has no single address. It's a quiet, devastating inquiry into the vulnerability of ordinary lives. — MovieFinder Editorial
