Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, months before his historic 2002 election victory, is caught in a whirlwind of rallies, negotiations, and endless travel. The camera trails him into elevators, cars, and the backrooms of campaign headquarters, capturing moments of fatigue, doubt, and rare solitude. The film foregoes political commentary to observe the metamorphosis of a union leader into a candidate, and then into a man grasping the weight of impending power. It is a chronicle not of public speeches, but of the intervals between them, where a different truth emerges.
