🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Director Frank Beyer constructs a delicate balance between tragedy and dark comedy, exploring how fiction becomes a vital lifeline in an atmosphere of despair. The film relies on Vlastimil Brodský's poignant performance as Jakob, an ordinary man turned unwitting beacon of hope.
What lingers after the credits is a profound meditation on the moral weight of a lie told for salvation. A story where humor and horror are inextricably woven into a testament of the human spirit. — MovieFinder Editorial
