Motion Picture (Employees Leaving the Lumière Factory)
In the darkroom, 50 unexposed film strips were laid across a surface, upon which a frame of "La sortie des ouvrier de l'usine Lumière" was projected. The stringing together of the individual developed sections make up the new film, which reads the original frame like a page from a musical score: within the strips from top to bottom and sequentially from left to right.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film constructs a dialogue with the very origin of cinema, using its primal frame as a score for a new work. It explores not narrative, but the film stock itself—the light and time required to develop a latent image.
What lingers after viewing is a hypnotic experience of watching an image emerge from darkness, where the process outweighs the result and a meditative rhythm reveals the poetry of the celluloid. — MovieFinder Editorial

Best Watched
In complete silence, on a large screen, to absorb the texture of the filmstock and the play of light.
