Go Ahead, Brazil!
Jofre Godoi da Fonseca, a politically indifferent middle-class man, is caught in the gears of the state apparatus. A chance airport encounter with activist Sarmento, soon assassinated by the political police, triggers a fatal case of mistaken identity. Amid the distracting euphoria of the 'economic miracle' and the national football team's World Cup victory, Jofre is arrested as a 'subversive.' His personal ordeal unfolds against the paradoxical backdrop of 1970s Brazil, where collective celebration and domestic comfort mask a climate of pervasive fear and institutional violence.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film is a meticulously crafted study of systemic absurdity, where a simple case of mistaken identity unravels into a profound political nightmare. Its clinical direction contrasts the banality of oppression with the vibrant, distracting spectacle of national pride.
What lingers after the credits is a chilling question about the cost of complacency in the face of state power. A sobering and essential political drama. — MovieFinder Editorial
