Sweet and modest Zhenya receives an unexpected inheritance: a distant relative, unknown to her, has bequeathed her an apartment in a high-rise building on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment. Arriving to inspect this treasure, Zhenya discovers the house is full. It turns out the old woman had been renting out three rooms to tenants: a lawyer with a difficult life, a taxi driver named Grisha, who moved out of his apartment to avoid disturbing his daughter, and a newly minted Muscovite, travel agent Nadya.
