Moonfall

2006 · 50 min

Yoshiko loved her daughter Chisa and husband Kenji, they were her family, her way of life. One day she took Chisa out on a jetty and holding her close, plunged into the lake. The Japanese call this "oyako shinju", parent/child suicide. For Yoshiko, it was a way to avoid the shame. Moonfall tells her story and a tragic clash of cultures.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

Moonfall is an acquired taste at 0.0/10. We recommend checking the trailer and synopsis before diving in.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.

A 2006 film from an era before CGI overload, with real performances that still hit hard. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
