🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The animation constructs a grim world, relying on the visual codes of gothic horror and historical fantasy. The direction works with pacing, alternating large-scale battles with intimate moments of character conflict, exploring the themes of the cost of power and a hereditary curse.

What lingers after viewing is the sense of an atmospheric but fragmented narrative, feeling more like a compilation of key cutscenes than a cohesive story. The experience is visually compelling yet leaves the lore and world-building largely implied. — MovieFinder Editorial
