Ojalá lo Fuera

María stares at the photograph of the mother she never knew. In her hands is a letter with an address in Mexico, where the woman left twenty years ago. She buys a plane ticket without imagining what she will find at the other end of the world. The 2026 drama explores the boundaries of family and identity, turning a personal journey into a universal story about searching for roots. Director Ángela Méndez builds the narrative on the contrast between the cold reality of Madrid and the vibrant, overwhelming colors of Mexico. Each new acquaintance becomes a mirror in which the heroine tries to see her own reflection. The film asks whether it's possible to build a future without understanding the past.
