Mark always found Christmas carols too saccharine, until one began playing in his empty house on December 24th. Instead of "Jingle Bells," his smart speaker emitted an ancient carol in a language that doesn't exist. With each verse, the room grew colder, and frost formed on the windows, tracing the faces of those who vanished in the neighborhood last winter. The technology designed to create comfort becomes a portal for something old and hungry, awakening with the first snow. Mark must not only survive the night but break a cycle older than the holiday itself.
