The Three Urns

Alexey, a forty-year-old archivist, discovers three ancient urns containing ashes of unknown people in the library basement. Instead of reporting the find to authorities, he decides to give them proper funerals, triggering a chain of absurd events. His attempts to follow rituals collide with bureaucracy, neighbors' indifference, and his own doubts. This 2026 tragicomedy explores themes of memory, duty, and humanity in a world that has long forgotten simple gestures.
