Fremd
Documentary about two young black Africans who fight their way across the Sahara from Mali and Cameroon in order to be smuggled into Europe from Morocco. A close-up confrontation with the fate of African migrants, dealing with the grueling circumstances of years of flight, but also with the motives behind migration: a life between agitation and hope, flight and stagnation, bought at the price of universal alienation.

Not every film is made for everyone. Read the synopsis, watch the trailer — you'll know right away if it's for you.
A 2011 film from an era before CGI overload, with real performances that still hit hard. Best for: genre fans and those open to something unconventional.
