Strange Tale of Consumption
Professor Kim Hyun-soo, an expert in ancient texts, gains access to the forbidden manuscript «Heupsikgidam». His colleague, Dr. Lee So-yeon, warns him: «What you seek will find you first.» Deciphering the symbols awakens something that begins to warp reality around the scholar—the laws of physics distort, and the boundaries between dream and wakefulness blur. Teaming up with former intelligence agent Choi Min-ho, they race to stop a chain reaction threatening not only Seoul but the very fabric of time. Each new translation brings catastrophe closer, and it soon becomes clear the manuscript is not merely a book but a living organism feeding on human consciousness.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Director Park Chan-wook constructs tension through minimalist visual poetry, where every frame detail becomes a piece of the puzzle. His camera doesn't follow the characters but anticipates their movements, creating a sense of predestination.
Those who tire of conventional thrillers will find a labyrinth where scientific logic clashes with mystical horror, and each revelation breeds deeper unease. Anyone ready for a genre blend that questions the very nature of perception will be challenged. — MovieFinder Editorial
