Ľudovít Štúr returns to Bratislava after studying in Germany, but instead of an academic career, he finds himself at the center of a language dispute. His idea of an independent Slovak language meets resistance from Hungarian authorities and skepticism from his compatriots. Together with a group of like-minded people, he begins work on a grammar that should become the foundation of national identity. The 2026 historical drama shows how ideas capable of changing the fate of a people are born. The film explores the price of intellectual labor and personal sacrifice for a common cause.
