When I Am Dead and White

Jimmy Barka, a young vagabond and seasonal worker, finds himself abruptly unemployed. His singular dream is to become a singer, to break onto a stage where his voice will finally be heard. He wanders the streets, brimming with hope and a naive faith in luck, trying to seize his chance in a world that seems full of promise. Yet, as with most things in the Balkans, his path is destined for a series of absurd and ridiculous situations, where every endeavor turns into a comical failure. The story of his aspirations is a sad and funny Balkan ballad about shattered illusions.
