Comeuppance

Inspector Michael hunts an unconventional serial killer, Sung Ping, who first dispatches a triad boss on a near-whim. Pleased with the outcome, Ping meticulously plans further executions, unsettling the local underworld. Meanwhile, reporter Hak transforms the real-life crime wave into fodder for his sensational newspaper serial. Ping soon begins using the fictionalized accounts to fuel his murderous designs, blurring the line between story and reality until Hak fears he may have become an unwitting accomplice to the violence.
