Carmen
Carmen, a young woman from a provincial town, unexpectedly inherits a dilapidated movie theater in the capital. Leaving behind a dull job and a tedious fiancé, she heads for the big city, where she finds not just a pile of rubble but the ghost of the venue's former glory. Teaming up with an eccentric projectionist living in the storage room, she embarks on a battle to revive the 'Illusion.' Their journey becomes a series of absurd situations, unexpected discoveries, and clashes with bureaucratic machinery, where every move feels like a scene from a silent film.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The film expertly walks the line between nostalgia and irony, transforming a story about saving a cinema into a metaphor for fighting for personal dreams. The director skillfully employs the visual poetry of old movie halls, where dusty projector beams become bridges between eras.
What lingers after the screening is a gentle aftertaste of hope and a desire to find one's own 'abandoned palace of dreams.' A warm and witty tale about how the past helps us build the future. — MovieFinder Editorial

Dusty velvet seats, the whirr of film through a projector, the scent of old paper posters.
