Nepela

Martin returns to his native Slovak town after twenty years away. His father, once a famous hockey player, now fades away in the silence of the family home. The reunion brings no reconciliation—only heavy silence and unspoken grievances. Martin tries to make sense of the past, but every conversation turns into a new conflict. In the town, frozen in time, he meets old acquaintances whose lives have also reached a dead end. Gradually, it becomes clear that his escape didn't solve his problems, only postponed the inevitable. The film explores themes of fathers and sons, failed hopes, and the burden of family heritage that cannot be shed.
