The Days Ahead

Michael, a Chicago architect, receives a letter from the father he hasn't spoken to in twenty years. Inside is a key to the old New England house and a single line: "Time to come back." Arriving, he finds not empty rooms but holograms of the past—scenes from his own childhood he doesn't remember. Each day, the house adds a new fragment, constructing a narrative where Michael was not a victim but a witness. Now he must not just recall but relive that August of 1999 to understand why his father vanished and his mother stayed silent. The neighbor Elisa seems to know more than she says, and the local archive holds a newspaper clipping about an "incident at the lake."
