My Little Grandma

Vietnamese teenager Hoang visits his grandmother Ngoai in her rural village for the first time. An awkward silence hangs between the city boy and the elderly woman who speaks in a local dialect. While exploring, Hoang discovers a peculiar gold bar in an old chest—a family heirloom no one has ever mentioned. His attempts to understand its value meet with his grandmother's reticence and village superstitions. This 2025 family drama gradually unveils the history of three generations through an object that holds different meanings: for Ngoai, it's a memory of war; for Hoang's father, an unspoken debt; for Hoang himself, a key to his own roots. The film explores how material objects become vessels for emotion and how silence can sometimes speak the loudest.
