Tarik
Tarik, a young Turkish-American, travels to Istanbul after his estranged father's death, expecting to settle the estate quickly. Instead, he is drawn into a web of family secrets that challenge his understanding of his own identity. A chance encounter with Elif, a woman who claims to have known his father intimately, forces him to question everything he thought was true. The city itself—with its labyrinthine bazaars and silent courtyards—acts as both a refuge and a maze, revealing fragments of a past Tarik is unprepared to face. His journey becomes less about claiming an inheritance and more about uncovering the emotional debts left unpaid, navigating the fragile line between two cultures and the man he believed his father to be.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Director Emir Kılıç employs a visual language of deliberate stillness, framing Tarik's internal isolation against the relentless motion of Istanbul. The camera often holds its distance, creating a palpable sense of estrangement that mirrors the protagonist's own.
What lingers after the final scene is the quiet ache of unresolved history and the cost of bridging two worlds. Anyone ready for a patient, atmospheric character study will find a resonant exploration of grief and identity. — MovieFinder Editorial
