Catching the Stars of This Summer
Yukito returns to his hometown after his father's death to deal with the inheritance — an old planetarium his father maintained. In the derelict building, he encounters Hikaru, a woman hiding from her own past. Together, they begin restoring the projector, and under the dome, among the projected constellations, a fragile connection forms between two lonely souls. This 2025 Japanese drama explores themes of loss, memory, and finding light in the darkest places, turning the mundane work of repair into a metaphor for healing. The film slowly reveals the characters' inner worlds through details — faded photographs, dusty projection disks, quiet conversations under the artificial sky.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Director Kazuki Nakamura frames each shot as a contemplative space, where the pauses between actions hold more weight than the actions themselves. His camera lingers on hands touching old machinery and faces illuminated only by the blue light of a star projector.
After the credits roll, what lingers is the quiet hum of the machine and the unspoken understanding between two broken people. A gentle, atmospheric piece for admirers of subtle Japanese storytelling. — MovieFinder Editorial
