Saving Shuli-San

Shuli-san, an unassuming librarian from Tel Aviv, realizes his life is an endless loop of identical Tuesdays. Each morning he wakes to the smell of his neighbor's fried fish, each morning at the bus stop he is overtaken by the same woman in red shoes. The comedic absurdity escalates as he attempts to break the system through increasingly ridiculous acts: dyeing his hair green, applying to be a circus performer, declaring himself king of the parking lot. The 2025 film explores personal freedom through a lens of dark humor and grotesque, transforming daily routine into a farce of cosmic proportions. The audience witnesses how mundane details coalesce into an inescapable trap, until the hero realizes the key lies not in escape, but in embracing the absurdity.
