Signor Faletti

Franco Faletti, an 85-year-old Italian actor, sits in his Roman café recounting the day he turned down a role from Fellini. His voice, gravelly from cigarettes and time, functions as its own distinct instrument. Filmmaker Marta Rossi trails him through theatre dressing rooms, abandoned film sets, and morning-empty cinemas where Faletti was once a star. The camera captures not biographical facts, but the shadows of memory—how he rehearses a monologue for a play that will never happen, or silently regards his own portrait in a lobby.
