🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Takashi Ishii crafts a complex psychological drama where eroticism is not a garnish but a language for expressing female pain, rage, and the search for identity. Every scene is an exploration of inner conflict, where the body becomes a battleground between social norms and personal demons.
What lingers after the credits is not just the provocative imagery, but a ruthless examination of marital loneliness and the compromises made for the illusion of love. The director's work commands empathy even in its most confrontational moments. — MovieFinder Editorial
