Antonio, 72, comes to the same Barcelona café every day. He orders an espresso, unfolds a newspaper, but does not read. He waits. Thirty years ago, this is where he last saw his daughter. Director Carlos Villar crafts a slow chronicle of waiting, where the main action is the absence of action. Life in the Gràcia district buzzes around Antonio: tourists, students, young mothers. But his inner world froze in 1995. When a new waitress, Marta, starts working at the café, her casual question disrupts the fragile equilibrium. This film is an exploration of memory as geography, where the past becomes the only real country.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Carlos Villar constructs the narrative on the minimalism of gesture and the significance of pause. The camera follows Antonio almost without interruption, documenting the rituals of his day with near-documentary precision.
Those who tire of plot-driven stories will find a meditative immersion into the protagonist's state, where silence speaks louder than dialogue. What lingers after is the drama born not from events, but from their meticulously measured absence. — MovieFinder Editorial
