Jake, a former stand-up comic, now delivers food by bike. His ex shows up unannounced and leaves their three-year-old daughter—whom he never knew existed—in his care. "You couldn't even keep a cactus alive," she throws over her shoulder on her way out. His world becomes a whirlwind of toddler meltdowns in a cramped apartment, attempts to return to the stage with desperately honest new material, and relentless calls from debt collectors. All set to the rhythm of his neighbor, an aspiring percussionist, who seems to be scoring his life.
