Li Qin returns to his hometown village after twenty years away. His father is dying, leaving behind only the old house by Cuihu Lake and a lifetime of unspoken resentment. In the quiet of the morning mist over the water, Li Qin sorts through yellowed letters, trying to understand why his father never forgave him for leaving for the city.
