Unusual Deal
Li Zhen, an ordinary accountant from a provincial town, accidentally witnesses a strange transaction in an underground garage. Instead of running, he decides to record everything on his phone — this clip becomes his only bargaining chip in a game where the stakes are measured in lives. Trying to blackmail a local crime boss, Li Zhen unexpectedly finds himself at the center of an absurd chain of events: he is pursued not only by gangsters but also by the police and a group of strange 'entrepreneurs' convinced he is the key middleman in a major scam. Each attempt to wriggle out tightens the noose further, blurring the lines between victim and fraudster. In this chaos, the accountant's only ally becomes a cynical bartender with her own scores to settle with the criminal world.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
Director Zhang Wei constructs the narrative on contrast: static, almost documentary shots of office routine abruptly give way to the dynamic, nearly grotesque absurdity of street clashes. The camera often follows the protagonist from a single vantage point, creating a trap-like effect with no escape.
Those who tire of predictable crime thrillers will find a dark comedy of errors here, where each plot twist hinges on a chain of ridiculous coincidences and fatal miscalculations. What lingers after the credits is the bitter irony of petty greed colliding with systemic brutality. — MovieFinder Editorial
