The Original Sin

Marko returns to his ancestral village after his father's death to perform an ancient rite. The local customs he dismissed as superstition become the only defense against what lurks in the forest. Every ritual detail—from a lit candle to a specific pattern on the gate—becomes a matter of life and death. As the night of Ivan Kupala approaches, the boundary between reality and primordial evil blurs. Marko realizes he broke a taboo long before his return, and now the cost of his mistake is not only his own soul but the fate of the entire village. The film explores the clash of modern skepticism with archaic beliefs, where true horror stems not from without, but from acknowledging one's guilt before the ancestors.
