Still Water
Kenji, a former engineer, now maintains a derelict pumping station. His sole duty is to monitor the water level in a steel reservoir, the last source for a dying city. Each day he logs the readings, listening to the silence broken only by machinery hum. Suddenly, entries appear in the logbook not in his handwriting, and the water level begins to change defying all physical laws. Gradually Kenji realizes the reservoir is not merely a steel construct, but a living entity with which he must converse. His isolation becomes an exploration of memory, guilt, and that thin boundary where engineering transforms into mythology.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The director employs a minimalist visual language where every detail—from metal creaks to water reflections—becomes a semantic accent. Static shots and long takes create a meditative observational quality.
Those who tire of explanatory dialogue will find a narrative where industrial sounds form their own lexicon, and mathematical precision unravels into metaphysical inquiry. What lingers after viewing is the haunting beauty of functional objects becoming poetic artifacts. — MovieFinder Editorial
