Tokyo, 2025. Strange beings resembling humans but devoid of memory or emotion appear on the streets of the megacity. They are called "Beginnings." Detective Kenji Tanaka is assigned a case involving a series of disappearances that lead to a secret laboratory. Teaming up with dissident scientist Aya, he discovers the "Beginnings" are the result of an experiment to create perfect soldiers, now spiraling out of control. As the investigation deepens, the pair become targets of both the corporation that created the beings and the mutants themselves, who begin to evolve.
