Some of Us Watch The Sunset, Too
Lena returns to her hometown after ten years away. She comes not by choice — her mother is in the hospital, and the old house needs repairs. On the very first evening, she meets Kirill, her high school sweetheart who never left this place. Their conversation on the dilapidated pier lasts until dark. Kirill shows her old photographs, and Lena realizes time here seems to have stood still. She tries to tidy the house, but every object reminds her of a past she tried to forget. Gradually, Lena discovers her mother kept all her letters and drawings, neatly stored in a shoebox. This 2025 drama explores themes of return, unspoken feelings, and how places shape our identity. The film balances on the edge between nostalgia and the painful realization that the past cannot be fixed, but it can be understood.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The director frames each shot like a photograph from a family album — still yet filled with details that speak louder than dialogue. He employs natural lighting, especially in sunset scenes where shadows grow long and colors soften.
Those who appreciate quiet stories where silence carries meaning will find a resonant space here. After the credits roll, what lingers is a gentle melancholy and the understanding that some roads lead us back so we can finally move forward. — MovieFinder Editorial
