Ukkonen

2001 · 22 min Action Science Fiction
5.2 / 10 · TMDB

Ukkonen (means Thunder) is a short film about a man called Ukkonen who was turned into a radioactive man in an accident in the Generator Corporation research plant, company secretly designing radioactive weapons with an energy business as a cover. Ukkonen starts his crusade to bring the company down and get his revenge. Nice quality for an independent production, even some special effects and some funny, overdramatic monologue by Ukkonen. Unfortunately the film is very short, lasting only about 20 minutes. Worth checking out if you somehow find this film.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take

The film constructs its narrative around the classic trope of a radioactive anti-hero seeking vengeance, exploring themes of corporate corruption and personal transformation within a tight runtime. It relies on practical effects and a deliberately theatrical performance to sell its concept.

What lingers after the credits is the sense of a compelling premise that feels abruptly truncated. The short format delivers a punch but leaves a desire for a more fleshed-out world and conflict. — MovieFinder Editorial
