Máma

Marta returns to her native Slovak town after years living in Prague. Her mother, known to everyone simply as Máma, still lives in the old house where every corner holds family secrets. Their reunion is not a joyful one, but a gradual immersion into a past filled with unspoken grievances and silent reproaches. The 2025 drama examines the fragile threads connecting daughter and mother, where love and pain are so tightly intertwined they become inseparable. The director avoids loud confrontations, preferring to reveal the drama through silent breakfasts and eloquent pauses between sentences. The film becomes a portrait of two women trying to find common ground amid the ruins of a shared past.
