Buddy Charles, a 72-year-old retiree, learns his beloved neighborhood park is slated for demolition to make way for a luxury condo development. Refusing to go quietly, he orchestrates the most absurd protest in the city's history, recruiting a struggling community theater actor in a giant groundhog costume as his unlikely accomplice. Their scheme quickly spirals out of control, pulling in skeptical neighbors, a jaded local reporter, and even Buddy's ex-wife, who arrives with a suitcase full of old grievances.
