Life in a Beat

Maria watches the sea from her Athens apartment window. She is forty-three, a schoolteacher, and her life is built from quiet rituals: morning coffee, grading papers, occasional calls to her sister. But this year brings unexpected shifts—the death of her father, with whom she had a strained relationship, and a new acquaintance that challenges long-held beliefs. The 2025 Greek drama examines not grand events but those 'little sighs': the barely perceptible tremors in an adult's emotional landscape. Director Dora Malasoudopoulou constructs her narrative around details: the sound of a key in a lock, the color of the sunset over the city, a pause in conversation.
