Mauro Corona - La mia vita finché capita
A hammer taps against stone, chipping away at marble. Mauro Corona, the 75-year-old Italian mountaineer, sculptor, and writer, continues to carve his thoughts into rock as he once carved them onto the pages of dozens of books. This 2025 documentary portrait follows him along the narrow paths of the Dolomites, into his workshop cluttered with unfinished sculptures, and into the silence of his home. The director observes the rituals of his day: the morning rise, working with wood and stone, long walks with his dog. The film becomes a conversation about time, nature, and creation, where every gesture is a philosophical statement. Through personal archive footage and present-day filming, we see how the landscape shapes the man, and how the man answers with his art. It is a film about finding meaning in simple actions and accepting life as it comes.

🎬 MovieFinder's Take
The director adopts the stance of a quiet observer, capturing Corona's daily rituals with long, unhurried takes. The camera follows him like a shadow, allowing the space and the silence to speak for themselves.
Those who appreciate films that breathe at their own pace will find a profound reflection on a life lived in deliberate harmony with a wild, demanding landscape. — MovieFinder Editorial
