The Arborist

Michael, an arborist in a nature reserve, discovers the trees have begun to move. At first, it was just branches swaying unnaturally, but soon he notices roots creeping toward his cabin at night. His colleagues dismiss it as the fatigue of a lonely man, until one vanishes without a trace, leaving only shreds of clothing snagged in the bark of an ancient oak. Michael's investigation leads him to the diary of the first groundskeeper, which describes rituals that bind a human soul to a tree. Now, the forest he swore to protect has become his prison, and every tree a potential predator waiting for its moment.
